Launching Startup.com.my
What is a startup? For those of you who don’t know, Wikipedia has a fairly good explanation. I like Paul Graham’s definition better: startup is a group of people that tackles on difficult technology problem.
Google is once a startup. So are Yahoo, Facebook, YouTube, Del.icio.us, Flickr, Blogspot and more. They all started with only ideas, and ended up changing the web forever.

There are a few things we will try to do with this newly launched site:
- Resources. Become a one stop resources for startups, and startups wanna-be. Because I simply couldn’t find a useful one in Malaysian context.
- Malaysia Startups Stories. Features success / failure stories of Malaysia startups. The rule of thumb is 50% of startups failed, but I believe it should be more. For every success of failures, we could learn something.
- Interviews. There are no better brain to tap than the people that walked the path. We will interview the founders, CEOs, founding employees of startups.
- Profiles. Something like what Michael Arrington is doing in Techcrunch. Except, this is the Malaysia version.
- Events. The guys at ideapreneur are doing such a fine job of getting the like-minded people together. We hope to cooperate with them.
- More. We will figure out more along the journey.
Stay tuned.
